Letters from recipients of Mitzvah Man’s Hesed! My husband is blind. I called the Mitzvah Man Org. to ask if they could come one time to read a book to my husband. Mitzvah Man sent a volunteer 45 minutes after my call! Amazingly, this volunteer did this act of kindness for two years every week on Fridays. My husband and I are very grateful for you have changed our lives. ~ Mrs. Bogurpulsky Our dad, a Holocaust survivor, had passed away and we had to sit shivah in Brooklyn at my par- ents’ home. We were concerned about getting a Minyan for Kaddish because we were from out of state. On the first night of Shiva, 17 complete strangers walked in. “We are here from Mitzvah Man to pray with you.” We were shocked! We don’t know how much to thank your or- ganization. You were there for us in our time of need. ~ The Friedman Brothers Our mom had been in the hospital and needed 24-hour care. Initially the family members took turns sleeping but then turned to Mitzvah Man for some volunteers. Instead of just one or two nights – every night for 3 weeks a volunteer came to the hospital, stayed up all night sitting on a chair, watching and caring for our mom. We cannot thank you enough. ~ V. Berman During a heatwave our apartment reached 92 degrees. My kids had wet towels wrapped around them in order to try and sleep. The weekend was approaching and was expected to be 100 degrees. As a single mom, financially I was barely making ends meet so I was told to call the Mitzvah Man Organization. After a friendly phone call they asked me to fill out required forms. In the interim, this organization was so caring, that they dropped off three brand new fans to help cool us off until the forms were approved. I have never seen such a high level of Hesed. So discreet, so caring, so giving. Within 48 hours my 2 new air conditioners were delivered! We don’t know how we can thank you. We hope one day to be on the giving side and be your volunteers as well. ~ Esther P.
