Today Laser dentistry is better than ever. Almost 50% of the fillings that we do can be done with gentle laser light instead of a drill. We are able to treat more cavities, saving healthy tooth structure without shots and without pain for all ages – from age 6 to 96. BioActive Filling Materials – for patients that are prone to decay or for the geriatric patient that has very deep decay. This includes people with dry mouth that are more prone to cavities along the gumline which can rapidly reach the nerve. Bioactive fillings are tooth colored and when the acidity of the mouth gets too acidic – a condition that usually results in deep cavities – the bioactive filling releases calcium actually reversing the decay process. Vital Pulp Therapy – Avoiding Root canal by using Ozone and MTA a medication that we put under deep fillings even when the cavity has reached the nerve to allow the nerve to heal and in 80% of cases avoid root canal. Having a complete range of equipment available allows a dentist to be able to use the right tool at the right time. This is the real benefit to the patient. With any tool – you must use the right tool at the right time. Sometimes a root canal is the best treatment.
