Oldest Message in a Bottle In 1913, a 20-year-old German hiker put a message in a bottle and then set it adrift in the Baltic Sea. It was found this year, March 2014, not far from where it was first launched.The brown beer bottle containing a postcard was pulled from the water by a German fisherman.Using the return address on the note, the postcard was traced back to Richard Platz, the son of a baker who lived in Berlin. FACTS STATS & Hairiest Donkey The Baudet du Poitou donkey of France has a coat with hair averaging 6 inches long. It is often deliberately left to mat so it yields a tangled pelage known as a cadenette, which the animal retains throughout its life. These creatures are quite rare, as only 50 are born each year. The Smallest Police Station The  world’s smallest police station was located in Carrabelle, Florida - in a telephone booth! Back when Carrabelle had no true police station, the police parked their car by a telephone booth near the main intersection, where they could monitor everything going on. For many years, calls for the police came into the telephone in the booth. Largest Collection of Converse Shoes Joshua Mueller of Lakewood, Washington holds the record for owning the most pairs of Converse shoes, with over 1,500 different pairs.
