Jumping to a 3-1 start Ma- gen David Varsity has shown its presence – especially on defense. Stellar performances from Aaron Harari and Joey Betesh helped put Magen near the top of the con- ference standings. Meanwhile, facing a tough schedule, YDE has proven its strength with solid play from team leaders Steven Beyda and Toby Cohen. The YDE squad ended November at 2-2 still very much in the running for a playoff spot. Varsity basketball at Flatbush has seen lots of play this season, but only two league games so far. If they continue to move the ball well, the com- ing weeks will give Flatbush a chance to advance in the standings.
