The sensational match against YDE included twin grandslams by Shaare batters Charlie Cohen and Jack Rishty. In other league play, YDE handily defeated Flatbush by a wide margin in the first game of a doubleheader, but saw the Flatbush team come back to score four runs in the final inning before closing out the game with a walk-off hit in extra innings. YDE also edged Magen David in a competitive game that sawAbe Dushey blast a three-run homer for the go-ahead run. With lots of softball left to play, and many talented players across the league, this season is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling slugfests in recent memory. 62 Community magazine
