T his past Pesach 70 community families were privileged to experience an unforgettable, uplifting and entertaining Pesach getaway in the Double Tree Hilton of Tarrytown, NY. Gavriel Amira, owner of Sova Caterers with over a decade of catering experience, had a vision to bring the finest cuisine, mouth watering menus, and must try dishes to the Seder table for community families to enjoy. With this idea in mind and the help of Rabbi Yehuda Eliyahu Rosh Kollel Hacham Baruch (in shaare zion), who stayed for the trip, and a great scheduling team, Shlomo Dvir and Yossi Ashur and family, Gavriel’s Sephardic Pesach getaway idea turned out to be a hit. Everyone who participated enjoyed over 45 delicious meals, an open tea room, and there was even special kid-friendly meals. The seders were served in the main dining room and each family conducted their own seder. Professional waiters served the meals and were on call for grape juice accidents. Chol Hamoed, which was an experience of its own, included many activities and events including Zumba, a magician, Hazan David Chiro, DJ Yitzi Wadiche,a petting zoo, bowling, swimming with separate pool hours and moonwalks all enjoyed by the families on premises. Gavriel looks forward to bringing the ultimate Pesach experience to the next level in 5774.
