FACTS STATS & Most Electrifying Man Largest Telephone The largest operational telephone in the world was exhib- ited in September 1988, to celebrate the 80th birthday of a large insurance company in Holland. It is 8 ft. high, 19 ft. 11 in. long, and weighs 3.8 tons. In order to make a call, however, you need a crane to lift up the 23 ft. 5 in. handset! First Submarine Automobile The “sQuba” is the world’s first car that can be driv- en both on land and underwater. It can drive straight into the sea and then float until a hatch is opened to allow water to flood the body and gradually sink the car. Once submerged, the car is able to travel at a depth of 33 feet. Coolest Hotel The Ice Hotel in Sweden, which is built from scratch every winter, is the largest ice structure in the world. Each year, it is constructed with 10,000 tons of ice and 30,000 tons of snow.The hotel accommodates over 100 guests, and every room is unique. Loudest Land Mammal The howler monkey’s piercing howling cries can be heard for up to three miles! It has special structures in its throat that are oval-shaped and hollow, thus acting as an echo chamber to produce this thunderous sound. The only man in the world to be struck by lightning seven times and live to tell about it was a park ranger fromVirginia named Roy C. Sullivan.
