Some packages of barley were completely free of insects and others were heavily infested. To inspect barley before using it, spread it out on a white piece of paper or other surface. Look for insects amongst and in between the grains. Alternatively, barley can be soaked in water for 15-20 minutes and agitated. Consumers who have pur- chased this product, distributed in Harris Teeter stores, and who may be sensitive to sulphur dioxide should not consume the product and are urged to return it to the place of pur- chase. Product was sold in all Whole Foods in the state of Florida, between June 12, 2012 through November 16, 2012. FDA, November 19, 2012. N ESTLÉ N ESQUIK C HOCOLATE P OWDER , was voluntarily recalled because the company was notified by an ingredient supplier, Omya Inc. that it has issued a recall of certain lots of its ingredient, calcium carbonate due to possible presence of Salmonella. The recall is limited to only Nesquik Chocolate Powder in 10.9, 21.8 and 40.7 ounce canisters, which were distrib- uted nationally. No other varieties of Nesquik powder or any sizes or flavors of Nesquik ready-to-drink are affected by this recall. There have been no reports of any illnesses or adverse health effects associated with the affected product. The affected product was produced during early October, 2012.
