H aving proudly served as a member of the New York City Council representing Brooklyn’s 44 th District from 2002 through 2010, which encompasses parts of Borough Park, Midwood and Bensonhurst, and currently serving as New York’s Deputy Comptroller for Budget and Accounting, Simcha has earned a reputation for getting things done. Perhaps more importantly, Simcha also has a long history of supporting the needs of the community and is the only candidate who has a proven record of delivering real results. As a councilman, Simcha passed commonsense legislation to make it easier to live, work and raise a family in our community, such as securing millions of dollars for our neighborhood schools to help create reading programs, purchase computers and build science labs. He has also been a leader in the fight for school vouchers and for restoring $16 million for Priority 5 and 7 childcare vouchers. He also provided funding for security equipment and fought to bring more police patrols to our neighborhoods to keep us safe and protect our children.
