tammuz 5772 JuLy 2012 47 Raymond Assis Salutatorian, Secular Studies Raymond is a student of many tal- ents who commits himself whole- heartedly to each and every one of his undertakings, a veritable perfectionist for whom each task becomes a mission. He takes nothing for granted and finds fulfillment in hard work and per- sonal achievement. He is an accomplished and smart student who finds the time to dedicate himself to the Shaare Torah Boys Choir as well as to the Miami Boys Choir. The melody and purity of his voice are a treat for the heart and soul. Yaakov Blanco Fine Character Award Yaakov is a gracious, respect- ful, and humble young man who takes his school work seriously and is well-liked by both peers and adults alike. We wish Yaakov much mazal and beracha in his chosen path. Yeshivat Shaare Torah Boy’s Elementary Salute to the Graduates of 2012 Jack Janani Valedictorian Jack has achieved a grade point average of over 97 during his four years at Shaare Torah, a reflection of his diligent and consistent hard work. Jack excelled in both Torah and secular studies, completing three Advanced Placement courses this year and two courses at Touro College. He also completed an internship last summer at Maimonides Hospital. Jack endeared himself to his peers by always making himself available to help them with their studies. Jack will be pursuing his Torah learning next year at Yeshivat Mikdash Melech in Israel and hopes to one day pursue a career in medicine. Abie Shalom Salutatorian, Judaic Studies At the beginning of this year we challenged our students to complete the 54 dapim (pages) of Masechet Succah. Abie not only stepped up to complete the Masechet, but also helped organize a learning program for several of our students at Shaare Zion. In addition, Abie was one of nine seniors who participated in our afterschool program at Touro College, earning college credits while still in high school. His top GPA in Torah studies and sterling reputation for fine middot (character traits) earned him the Judaic Studies Salutatorian award this year. Next year Abie plans to pursue his Torah learning at Yeshivat Mikdash Melech. Albert Dweck Salutatorian, Secular Studies T hroughout his entire high school career, Albert's commitment to excellence never wavered. With his high standards and aspirations, it is no wonder that Albert achieved acceptance and will be attending NYU next year. This year alone, Albert took three Advanced Placement courses and two courses at Touro College. Alongside his academic excellence and achieving the highest general studies GPA, Albert remains deeply committed to learning Torah and continued learning with his Rebbe, Rabbi Shlomo Wadiche, even after senior classes ended.
