Smooth Italian Sorbet T his sorbet is fun to make, and inexpensive too. Best of all, you can create any flavor you can dream up. Yields: 8-10 servings Ingredients: • 2 boxes kosher gelatin desert (not sugar free) • 2 cups warm water • 3/4 cup sugar • 2 cups juice Sorbet Flavor Gelatin Desert Flavor Juice Outrageous Orange Orange Jello Orange Juice Raspberry Rave Raspberry Jello Grape Juice Citrus Tang Lemon/Lime Jello Lemonade Raging Red Strawberry/Cherry Jello Fruit Punch Directions: 1. Empty the gelatin desert packets into a bowl, and dissolve with 2 cups warm water. 2. Add the rest of the ingredients, and stir to combine. 3. Place the liquid gelatin desert mix into the freezer until semi-firm, about 3-4 hours depending on freezer. Do not allow to freeze completely. 4. Scoop ices into food processor, and blend for 30 seconds to a minute, until smooth. 5. Pour back into bowl and return to freezer. 6. After about another 2-3 hours, when ices are almost solid again, return to food processor and blend again until smooth. 7. Pour into desired container, and freeze. Nutragous Macaroons T he only thing these delicate, airy confections have in common with the macaroons from a can, are the name. These easy to make, fluffy cloud cookies are melt in your mouth fabulous. Make sure to share. Yield: 50 cookies Ingredients: • 5 egg whites • Pinch of salt • 1 cup sugar • 1 cup chopped walnuts or slivered almonds • 12 oz coconut • ½ tsp. vanilla • Bag of chocolate chips Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350º 2. Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form, adding sugar gradually. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients gently. 4. Place rounded spoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking sheet. 5. Bake for 16-18 minutes. 6. Allow to cool and dry for at least an hour before removing from tray. Note: Cookies can be customized to taste. Don’t like coconut? Skip it and add extra nuts. Don’t like nuts? Leave them out and add extra chocolate chips. RECIPES: Treats for Passover...
