S OLIDS ? So yesterday! We’re into the bold and graphic stripes, zig zags, houndstooth and checkered confections that the new season has brought in. And, there’s a print for every personality! On the conservative side? A classic houndstooth sheath dress is an elegant and understated way to step out day or night. Feeling a little bolder? Try hound- stooth patterned tights with a black top and white skirt for an eye popping contrast. Looking to walk on the wild side a little? Strap on a zig zag strap booty with a gleaming pebbled metal heel or a strappy mid calf boot done in a high voltage shine leather. Or for a real rock n’ roll look, drape a chain detail vest with opti- cal illusion stripe cutouts in the back over a slim top and skirt...total rocker chic! Dressing for a lounging around casual weekend? A basic striped turtleneck is always in style. Add a little interest by layering a differ- ent pattern of stripes to it, like a playful multi-colored scarf. For a variation on the standard stripe, try a graphic zebra print sweater, or a graphic linear dress, like DVF’s mod shirtdress, or the ever famous zig zag knit Missoni is known for. And last but not least, don’t forget the accessories. Even jewelry has gone graphic! Cavalli’s archi- tectural necklace looks like a pyramid scheme all in itself, and onyx inlaid hoops have that je ne sais quois striped effect.
