However the non flavored Smirnoff Ice including the Smirnoff Ice and Smirnoff Ice Triple Black contain grape and are not certified kosher. cRc, confirmed by KSA, April 15, 2008 Nori in Trader Joe’s Oriental Rice Crackers and Norimake Crackers , has been extensively investigated and tested by OK kosher certification. Lab results and examina- tion by an expert in tola’im (worms) in Israel confirm that the Nori used in the Trader Joe’s products has no problem of infestation what- soever. OK regrets any inconvenience caused to consumers by the earlier kosher alert of March 5th when the OK felt it necessary to err on the side of caution until they could verify for certain that there was no problem with the product. Trader Joe’s rice crack- ers will continue to carry the OK symbol on their labels. OK, April 15, 2008 Mexican meat and poultry products , were rumored to be the subject of an alert dis- seminated by the Orthodox Union. In fact, the Orthodox Union did not disseminate this alert in any fashion and does not have any knowledge regarding the shehita (slaughtering) processes in Mexico. OU, April 7, 2008 Health Alerts Samuel Adams Beers , Boston Beer Co., is being recalled because defective bottles from a glass company that provides Boston Beer with about a quarter of its glass bottles may contain glass particles. Only 12-ounce brown glass bottles with the code N35 fol- lowed by OI embossed around the bottom are involved in the recall. Consumers who purchased beer in potentially defective bottles are urged to discard the product and register for a refund online at consumerinfo.samadams. com. The recalled product was distributed nationally with “Best If Used By” codes between April 8, 2008 (coded as “APR0808”) and March 18, 2009 (coded as “MAR1809”). In addition to the Malt-O-Meal brand, some private label brands are affected including Acme, America’s Choice, Food Club, Giant, Hannaford, Jewel, Laura Lynn, Pathmark, Shaw’s, ShopRite, Tops and Weis Quality. Although the company believes the problem is not widespread, it is taking this precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its consumers. Affected products are 6-ounce Fat Free Blueberry yogurts carrying one of following product codes printed along the cup bottom that start with the dates: Apr 14 08, Apr 15 08, April 25 08, Apr 26 08.
