Community Magazine June 2003
12 COMMUNITY MAGAZINE Dear Community Magazine, I have no words to express my appreciation. For years, I had a desire to read “community news” in a moral fashion, without fear of turn- ing the next page. How enjoyable it is know- ing there are people who really care about the very existence of our lovely community- our “spiritual welfare”! Community Magazine- “A dream come true.” Thank you and thank you! May G-d Bless you with many fruitful years to come!! With tears of joy, M ORRIS O. P.S. One thing bothers me very much – the page with the “Tzniut Fashions”- us Jews do not fol- low fashions, we follow the Torah. Although it may be “modest fashions,” “fashion” in itself is not too modest. I kindly request of you to please be more sensitive in this area. Thanks. Dear Editor, Thank you so much for putting the Megillah [Esther] reading schedule in your magazine. Every year, my family is on the phone to try to find out what time the readings in each shul are – It was so nice having all the times listed right in front of me! Dear Community Magazine, I’m writing to you because I saw your mag- azine for the very first time in Borough Park. Wow! Hands up!..The information is beauti- ful with the full respect that it’s a “clean publi- cation” and most important that the pictures are clean…So proud! All the very best, C HANI F RIEDMAN Dear Community Magazine, My friends and I truly enjoy your publication. The recent letter regarding the lack of tznuit really was a necessary reminder to the young ladies who do not realize the many sins they are causing Jewish men to commit. By exposing their bodies in a provocative way, they attract the eyes of their fellow Jews, thereby causing forbidden thoughts. May I suggest that the girls’ yeshivas insti- tute a special class or portion of a class which includes learning the sefer by rabbi Pesach Eliyahu Falk, “Modesty-An Adornment for Life.” In his sefer, Rabbi Falk blames lack of Tzniut for the many early deaths of young peo- ple. Our women and young females can do much to show their inner nobility by dressing and behaving as they were meant to do.
