His parents rushed him to the hospital... but Elliot didn’t come home. This exceedingly special nine-year-old boy returned his pure Neshamah (soul) to his creator on the 21st day of Adar II 5733 (March 25 1973). At the 30 year Arayat held Sunday March 23, 2003 in front of a capacity crowd of over 300 family, friends and Rabbis in Congregation Shaare Shalom, Elliot’s oldest brother Jack reflected “I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I distinctly remember wish- ing and praying that I could push time 20 or 30 years forward, so that maybe I would be a little de-sensitized to that moment.
